We are home after an amazing holiday. We've come back with great memories, lifelong friendships, full bellies, and of course many many photos! Oh, and we started a new business. More on that in the next couple of weeks. But for now, three tiny sneak peeks for our shoot with Nat & Lucas...awaiting their arrival of Ellia Spencer in the upcoming weeks. Feels great to be back.

Grateful.
Here we are in Ottawa after two of the best days of my life. I would say that seeing Madonna and photographing my idol Natalie Spencer were two life highlights that are difficult to put into words. We are heading to the Laurentian mountains near Mont Tremblant for a couple of days of nature and quiet. No Internet access so will check in on the next leg of our journey in Montreal.
Until then, grateful.
P.S. Blogging from a cell phone stinks.

Marianne & Dan
Marianne contacted me through following Michael's food blog. She wanted me to photograph her wedding day, but not the ceremony, reception or prep shots. She simply wanted portraits of her and her groom to be. No fuss, no props. No over the top attention. Just the two of them, by the water to the East of Toronto. It was absolutely a pleasure.
Sometimes, simple means so very much.

Girls. Wanna. Have. Fun.
Heidi and I went to highschool together, albeit four years apart. We spent the entire day and night yesterday catching up and sharing stories of growing up in Stoney Creek. We know the same people. Probably dated the same boys. Shared the same insecurities. Had the same experiences with trying to please "the popular girls." Shudder. High school was hell. And sadly I've learned some people never grow out of it. But here she is. Single, making six figures as a nurse, owning and renovating her own home, funny as hell and drop dead gorgeous. Did I mention single?
Michael and I collaborated and put together this album of girlfriend inspired photos. Heidi was the one who inspired me to cut off all my hair again and so we thought it would be cute to do a shoot together. So much fun. Why not book a session with your best friend and document these care free moments? Time is fleeting. Document it now.

Wendy

Vanessa + Jeff: Scottish Rite
Vanessa was one of my first brides to book with me. She stated that she loved my work but preferred the vibrant and bright photos as opposed to the soft and muted that has become my style. Their Scottish themed wedding provided the perfect backdrop for this rich colour palette and although from Toronto, Vanessa and Jeff fell in love with the Scottish Rite in Hamilton. Their day and night was filled with fun, romance, tears and laughter. Jeff's Big Bang Theory type of personality chides fun at his own inner geek and he ensured to incorporate a few details to reflect so. As always, we enjoyed working with the videographer Chris from Fresh Canadian Content.

Vanessa, Jeff and baby Tristan, we were so thankful and honoured to be part of your day. Thank you for the kind words during your speech, we truly felt appreciated. You allowed us the autonomy and trust for your day to be as creative as we wanted. We love you and wish you all the best!
Love,
Wendy
