We first met Steph at her brother's wedding that we shot last year. We were so excited when we had a conference call with her and Kevin. We discussed their engagement shoot and wedding which both took place in Wakefield, Quebec. We were heading that direction for our annual trip through Ottawa to take family photos of my dear friend and fellow photographer Natalie and her family.
We had never really chatted with Steph and Kevin but they were the ultimate hosts and had us stay at their cottage for the weekend! We started our shoot in beautiful Wakefield; a town that seems as if time stands still and everything still has charm and character. We headed back to their cottage and finished up the sunset session. Kevin is a hunter and made us the most wonderful dinner...duck for every course, and it was delicious! He introduced us to some french wine, cuisine and music. We were treated like royalty and we missed them so much when our weekend was over.
They also breed dogs. We almost left with a Boston Terrier! Come on, can you blame us? Steph and Kevin will be married next summer at Le Belvedere. We all went to check it out the day we left and the view is just to die for!
Steph and Kevin, thank you for being the ultimate gracious of hosts. Your kindness and generosity to complete strangers will never be forgotten. A weekend with glorious food, drink, laughter, hot tubs, puppies and sunsets....on this Thanksgiving weekend...it's so fitting that I'm completely grateful for this wonderful life and the people like you that we get to share it with.
